NSFAS Online Application 2025
Do you have the desire to pursue higher education in South Africa, but are concerned about the financial challenges involved? The National Student Financial Aid Scheme, NSFAS Online Application 2025 Academic intake will open in November 2024 and close on 31 January 2025. NSFAS Funding 2025 portal is now open to receive applications. Prospective students are encouraged to apply before the closing date or deadline.
To apply for NSFAS 2025, go to the online application portal at www.nsfas.org.za and submit your online application form for your funding. Apply before the application deadline so that you can be funded by NSFAS.
Please note that NSFAS funding is highly competitive due to the limited funding available. The following tips and tricks will help ensure you have the best chance of obtaining NSFAS funding for the upcoming 2025 academic year.

How to Submit NSFAS Online Application 2025
To apply for NSFAS Online, follow the procedure below:
- Visit the NSFAS website: www.nsfas.org.za
- Click on “myNSFAS“ tab at the top right menu
- Create myNSFAS Account and continue
- Login to myNSFAS with your ID number & password
- Click on the “Apply” tab to begin the application
- Fill out the online application form with your details
- Upload your needed supporting documents
- Complete and Submit your application for review
In case you have applied for #NSFAS2025 funding and received a request to submit supporting documents, log into your myNSFAS account to upload the required documents. Students must download the NSFAS Declaration form.
This form is only for applicants who are 34 years old or younger and whose parent-child relationship with the provided parents/guardian cannot be verified by NSFAS.
You may also receive additional information regarding your funding. Contact NSFAS directly if you encounter any problems or have further questions through their website or helpline.
All applicants are encouraged to check their 2025 application status on the myNSFAS portal. NSFAS has just updated its list of provisionally funded applicants due to a significant increase in funding.
Who Qualifies for NSFAS Online Application 2025?
The NSFAS online application requirements for 2025 is base on the following:
- If you are a South African citizen
- If you’re an SASSA grant recipient
- If you have cellphone number and email address
- If you are planning to study at a TVET College or University
- If your combined gross household income does not exceed R350 000 annually
Required Documents for NSFAS Online Application 2025
The following are the needed supporting documents that every applicant must have before submitting your NSFAS online application for the 2025 academic year.
- A copy of student ID / Birth certificate
- A copy of parent/s or guardian/ spouse ID
- A Smart card: both sides of card required
- Proof of income (where applicable)
- Persons living with disability (Disability Annexure A form)
- A completed and Vulnerable Child Declaration form completed by a social worker, etc.
